How I can help

Pregnancy can be a time of great anticipation, filled with unexpected emotions, fears, and uncertainty. For many women, pregnancy can trigger or intensify anxiety, especially when paired with hormonal changes, physical discomfort, and a shifting identity.  Whether you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or simply need a place to process everything you're experiencing, you don’t have to go through it alone.  Therapy can help you make sense of what you're feeling.

As a licensed clinical social worker, my goal is to provide you with a safe, supportive, and nurturing space where you can speak freely about the thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to share with others. You may be experiencing changes in mood, fears about the future, anxiety about childbirth or motherhood, or a sense of disconnection from yourself. All of these experiences are valid, and they deserve to be met with empathy, understanding, and professional care.

In our work together, I will listen actively and attentively to your fears and concerns, tuning into your emotional needs. We will explore what support looks like for you that honors your unique experience of pregnancy.  My role is to provide you not only with compassionate presence, but also practical tools and coping strategies to help you feel more grounded and in control.  If you're struggling with decision-making or self-doubt, we can work on identifying your values and hopes.

Together, we will take time to explore the expectations you may be carrying, working to recognize both the expectations you place on others and the ones you hold for yourself.  These expectations often develop over time and can create a great deal of internal pressure, especially when shaped by perfectionism, comparison, or fear of judgment. In our work, we’ll gently uncover these patterns and begin to challenge any unrealistic standards that may be weighing you down.  Through this process, you can begin to develop a greater self-awareness and self-compassion, while developing a more balanced, authentic, and supportive way of relating to both yourself and others.

Another meaningful aspect of our work together can be learning to practice self-compassion and develop a more nurturing, supportive inner voice. So often, we speak to ourselves with far more criticism than kindness holding ourselves to impossibly high standards or minimizing our struggles. Through therapy, we will begin to shift that internal dialogue, helping you cultivate a sense of gentleness and acceptance toward yourself, even in moments of difficulty. As you build this inner foundation of self-kindness, you'll likely notice an increase in your emotional resilience, personal strength, and confidence.

Let’s create a space where you can feel heard, empowered, and emotionally supported as you move through pregnancy, one step at a time.   Through secure Telehealth sessions, I work with women across New York and Connecticut, offering compassionate and personalized care.
