Assisting new moms with their Mental Health

Navigating the many changes that come with the journey into motherhood

Are you a new mom looking for support with your mental health?

Are you feeling overwhelmed by all the changes you are going through?

Do you feel like you are on an emotional rollercoaster?

Are you trying to juggle unsolicited advice from others and potentially your own feelings of inadequacy?

Are you struggling with constant worrying that something bad could happen to your baby?

Are you experiencing intrusive thoughts that make you feel uncomfortable and make you doubt your capabilities as a mom?

Do you feel your brain is overloaded by the laundry list (no pun intended!) of things you think you need to accomplish?

Are you having difficulty adjusting to a new schedule or routine?

How I can help

As a licensed clinical social worker, my goal is to provide you with a safe, supportive, and affirming space.  A space where you can pause, take a breath, and gently ground yourself amidst the many demands of everyday life. Therapy is more than just talking, it’s time you have carved out to care for you. A time to take an opportunity to gently shift your focus and begin prioritizing your own needs, wants, values, goals, and emotional well-being.

For so many women, particularly mothers, it becomes second nature to put others first but that can come at a cost of feeling burned out, disconnected, or unseen. You may appear fine on the outside, while inside you’re overwhelmed or unsure how to make space for yourself.

In our work together, we will explore the way you think, perceive and speak to yourself, and the expectations you carry.  I’ll help you challenge unrealistic expectations and self-criticism so you can begin to see your strengths, resilience, and the value of all your hard work through a more compassionate and realistic lens.

Through our work, you’ll learn effective tools to help you establish and maintain healthy personal boundaries within your interpersonal relationships where you may feel invalidated or overstretched.  Learning how to advocate for your own needs can increase your confidence in your choices, particularly in your role as a mother.

We will also practice self-compassion techniques that allow you to embrace nurturing yourself as an essential part of your emotional health. As you begin to prioritize yourself, you may notice improvements in your relationships, your energy, patience, and your ability to be present.

And if you’re feeling overwhelmed or disorganized, we’ll work together to break it down into smaller more manageable steps.  We’ll collaboratively develop customized and realistic routines and systems that align with your life and help you feel more in control and less burdened.

Through secure Telehealth sessions, I work with women across New York and Connecticut, offering compassionate and evidenced based therapeutic services.
